Hi, I’m Emma! I am the person behind the handmade home décor creations here at Ivy Inspired.  I am based in Coromandel on an off-grid, mostly self-sufficient property where I live with my husband and our 2 young boys.  My family and I love travelling with our caravan and discovering hidden gems in our beautiful country, although most of the time we are enjoying being home in our garden, working on a planting food forest and finding joy in watching the flowers bloom.

Ivy Inspired’s Home Décor Journey Begins

Originally known as The Wedding Bunch, which started in 2013, after my sister & I decided to try our hand at being business owners. We had trained together as florists in 2002 at Bay of Plenty Polytech and went on to work in florist shops, both here and in Australia.

I then started making decorations, table runners & bunting mostly. And they were a hit! And I love making them. But since my sister decided to concentrate on other things, the name just didn't suit anymore. So, I changed the name to Ivy Inspired after my Grandma Ivy who was one of my main creative influences. She loved making, baking and growing things, but most of all she loved God... just like me!!  It is nice to be able to remember her, and of course Grandad Aubrey too, while I do all the things we share a love for.

I create all my home décor items and bunting by hand and really enjoy doing custom orders & coming up with ideas for making something a little bit different. My flag creations have been used for photo shoots, 21st parties, baby showers, and decorating bedrooms, not just weddings.  They have even been used on TV in The Great Kiwi Bake Off and on one of Air New Zealand's famous safety videos!

Bringing pure decorative magic to my customer’s events is truly a pleasure. From fresh flowers to custom made bunting and crochet blankets, the impact they bring to a home or venue is amazing. As well as offering ready-made home décor products, I also create custom pieces on request. If you have something special in mind, send me an email and I’ll do my best to make it happen!
